JOIN OUR COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR 2020 WALKATHON!

The winter season can be full of treasured moments with family and friends.  However, there are members of our community who really struggle during these cold nights – homeless, hungry, many times feeling hopeless.  It is for them that we would like to invite you to be one of our ‘Heroes Without Capes’ by joining our 2nd Annual St. Felix Centre Coldest Night of the Year walkathon.  Participating in the St. Felix Centre Coldest Night of the Year is an opportunity to get a closer understanding on how difficult it is to be out there in the “winter covered’ streets looking for a place to rest, and at the same time raising funds to support people experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, food insecurity and extreme poverty.

The Coldest Night of the Year is a national family-friendly walk which takes place in over 145 cities all across Canada on the same day and time. The name of our location is “Toronto Queen Liberty.” Our walk is approximately 5K; we will walk from our main site at 25 Augusta to our second location in Liberty Village, and back. At the end of the event we will have a small celebration with chili, hot chocolate and music for all participants.

But, what is St. Felix Centre?

Formally established in 1993, St. Felix Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate service and a safe, welcoming and respectful environment inclusive of all religions, genders, cultures and abilities, to support some of the most marginalized individuals in Toronto’s downtown core.

Last year’s event was a great success, and with your support, we know we can do even better this time. You can join the event by creating a team with your coworkers, family or friends and walk with us on February 22nd or join the initiative by sponsoring a walker or a team.

Please visit our website stfelixcentre.org for more information and all the directions to join our Coldest Night of the Year 2020 event!
