The Centre for Social Innovation, Food Secure Canada, and Toronto Youth Food Policy Council invite you to CSI Annex on Tuesday, August 16th at CSI Annex for an in-person screening of the documentary-style film “Food for the Rest of Us.”
Focusing on four local initiatives that are significantly improving the lives of their communities through food and agriculture, Food for the Rest of Us shows us just how much farming is about activism. It takes an intimate look at the concept of food sovereignty and how marginalized people use food and agriculture to free themselves from oppression.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on the film’s themes, including food justice, food sovereignty, and the intersections between race and food systems. Details on our discussion to come soon!
The film will be in English with subtitles and the discussion will be in English.
CSI Members get in free! Non-members can purchase tickets for $10 (or PWYC).
Tickets are limited, so save your spot and register now!
