When you think of achieving the Glass Skin or Glowy Skin look, what comes to mind first?
It’s usually using more skincare products, doing facial treatments, and following multi-step skincare routines.
But in reality, the thing that will make the most difference on your skin is a balance between your gut health, nervous system regulation, and lifestyle choices.
Your skin is already telling you something:
When you have those breakouts that show up right before a big deadline or after consuming fried foods. Or that redness that flares up after a rough week of eating on the go. Or the dry, flaky skin that won’t seem to go away during winter times.
If you’ve ever noticed your skin changing with your stress levels, digestion, or even the environment around you, you’re not imagining it and you’re not alone.
Event Overview
Part of the Toronto Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Walks series, this interactive educational session will explore how stress, digestion, and daily habits affect our skin health.
Dr. Julie Hwang, Naturopathic Doctor, and Michelle Hsu, TCM business and life coach, will walk you through how stress, digestion, sleep, and everyday habits connect to what shows up on your skin, and what that looks like through both an integrative medicine and a TCM lens.
You’ll leave with a clearer picture of why “skin issues” are often not just skin issues, an introduction to herbs and foods commonly used in TCM to support digestion and skin, and a few simple, realistic habits you can start using this week. No 12-step skincare routine required.

Kind Words from Past Attendees ✨
“This was an interesting experience and I enjoyed learning how to adapt the foods we eat based on the season and our environment. It was fascinating to learn about different seasonal ingredients, what they can support, and the daily rhythm of the organs. The herbal tea we tried was also great – it was delicious and felt like something I could easily incorporate into my everyday routine. Overall, the experience made TCM feel practical and approachable. It’s a great start for anyone who wants to explore TCM and learn how to bring some of its principles into their daily life.”
– L. K.“Honestly, I had such a good time. I felt relaxed and excited the whole way through, with just enough curiosity mixed in to keep things interesting. I loved learning some new TCM terms and concepts I’d never really dug into before, and it was cool getting the tea alongside it as well as understanding the properties of each ingredient. Meeting other people there was a highlight too, I walked away with some great resources (acupuncture, shops, etc.) I wouldn’t have found otherwise. If you’re on the fence about going to a TCM Walk, just do it — you’ll come away with more than a nice afternoon, you’ll actually pick up some real knowledge and connections.”
