Local Democracy and Diaspora

You’re invited to a special event hosted by The Green Line and The Samara Centre for Democracy, called Local Democracy and Diaspora, which takes place on Thursday, May 23 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in The Samara Centre’s beautiful space at 33 Prince Arthur Avenue.

The Green Line’s May Action Journey focuses on Diasporic Conversations, which explores why living in a uniquely multicultural and pluralistic city like Toronto means we feel the impact of geopolitical conflicts much more intensely than other cities.

Our Action Journey will culminate in a panel event and reception with refreshments. Event attendees will have a chance to listen to and participate in a discussion with panelists Jaskaran Singh Sandhu (State Strategy, Baaz News), Cheuk Kwan (Toronto Association for Democracy in China) and Ryan Singh (Indo-Caribbean Canadian Association). You’ll also be able to brainstorm community-led solutions — part of The Green Line’s unique editorial/impact model — our “Action Journey” — which encourages Torontonians to take action on issues they care about in their neighbourhoods and communities

***RSVP before seating runs out. Ideally, please confirm your attendance by May 14.***

We hope to see you there!
