In partnership with Sage & Savant, and the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI), VOICES is presenting our Youth PA Day Program, “Beyond the Trauma of COVID-19 – Part 2”.
“Beyond The Trauma of COVID-19” is a play-based and trauma-informed mental health program for elementary school children in Ontario. This youth program was designed to help participants recognize the impact of the pandemic on their lives, and on their feelings. The social isolation that we have all endured from the pandemic has led to negative effects on mental and physical health, where our program seeks to improve resilience in youth and to encourage community building through fun activities and games where children can play and learn at the same time.
VOICES Global strives to enable self-discovery in youth, and strengthen their emotional durability and adaptability by exploring the effects of a pandemic and discovering ways we can build our emotional intelligence toolkit that will leave a positive impact on other challenging times in our lives. We value partnership and community support to help individuals overcome stressful situations and enable the return back to normal. We have developed activities that will educate youth on social and interpersonal skills like teamwork, problem solving and critical thinking, and explore further related themes like consent, choice and coping.
