Term: 6 months contract with possibility of extension (beginning mid-June, then part-time Sept. until mid-December)
Location: home based + Saturdays from June – December (2 Saturdays off) / Evergreen Brickworks, Bayview Ave., Toronto, Ontario
TO Food Market is a new concept food delivery service company operating out of Evergreen Brickworks Farmers market. A social enterprise making local food accessible to people within adjacent neighborhoods. Through the just-in-time model, TFM reduces carbon footprint of the food as well as food waste by shortening the food delivery chain and eliminating the need to warehouse.
We highly encourage applicants to be between 18 and 30 (inclusive) years of age* at the start of the employment, full-time / part-time students in the previous academic year and intending to return to school in fall 2019. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. This opportunity is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Summer Work Experience Program in order to provide students with valuable experience in the green jobs sector.

The coordinator / administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of food ordering / delivery, communication with customers, social media and administrative tasks associated with these. Part of the responsibilities will be to collect metrics on weekly basis to measure environmental impact through GHG calculations, food waste avoidance and social impact.

Process new market box subscriptions.
Create orders for vendors and farmers, receive orders at the market.
Prepare for and coordinate market box assembly.
Provide support in pick-up and delivery of products.
Plan and coordinate product delivery activities to ensure accurate and timely deliveries to customers.
Schedule deliveries and prepare delivery documentation.
Work in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Provide outstanding services and ensure customer satisfaction.
Track the status of product orders and resolve any issues promptly.
Communicate with customers weekly market box updates.
Collect metric for social and environmental impact.
At least 18 years old
Eligible to work in Canada
Experienced in a leadership position
Proven ability to work independently
Excellent organizational and coordination skills
Must be able to meet deadlines
Proficiency in use of computer technology and various applications
Self-starter that prides him/herself in their work
Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Mailchimp is an asset
Drivers licence is an asset
Must be able to lift 30 - 40 lbs
