Position Type: Full time, fixed term

Length of Contract: 17 months, with possibility for extension or renewal

Compensation: 40-45K commensurate with experience + benefits after probationary period

A registered charitable organization, SII’s helps organizations tackle systemic social, environmental and economic challenges. We do this by providing inclusive social innovation education and training, building connections, and providing affordable access to coworking spaces for those facing economic barriers. Our programs include Social Innovation Canada, the Social Innovation for Systems Change Curriculum and the Social R&D Ecosystem Mobilization Initiative. 

 

About the Program Assistant

We’re looking for a dynamic Program Assistant who is enthusiastic, organized and driven, a professional with a passion for this work and for our people and planet first values. As the Program Assistant, you’ll report to the Program Manager and work closely with the SII and CSI teams to help manage workflow, drive efficiencies and support the overall performance of the team.

You will be playing an important role delivering a new initiative, The Social R&D Program Ecosystem Mobilization Program, and supporting the administration of this program across other programs, organizations and initiatives. The project is a collaboration of The Social Innovation Institute and tThe McConnell Foundation, with additional support provided by Innoweave and the Centre for Social Innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the SII program team such as room bookings, preparing expense reports

  • Maintain shared project folders and information management systems

  • Coordinate travel and other bookings for program team and project consultants

  • Prepare minutes from Advisory and other team meetings

  • Provide logistical support that supports program delivery, including setting up calls, booking meetings, managing schedules, room bookings and catering, etc.

  • Support the production of Social R&D tools, such as liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders

  • Trouble-shoot technical and administrative problems

  • Other administrative duties, as needed

 

Qualifications

  • +3 years of work experience in EA or other project coordination roles

  • Proficiency in google suite and excel

  • Previous experience working in social and environmental fields an asset

  • Minimum college or undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills

  • Strong customer-service orientation

  • Able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities

  • Able to work Monday-Friday during daytime business hours (e.g. 9am to 5pm, or 10am to 6pm) and occasionally after hours. Some travel may be required. Please indicate your availability in your cover letter.
