Co-Founder, CEO Brave Soles
My life has kind of been stranger than fiction. Ask me about it sometime :)
I got the idea for Brave Soles in 2017 after working with stateless landfill workers around the world for the past 13 years.
I grew up as a relentless extrovert on a farm in Saskatchewan, Canada, dreaming of having more people to talk to other than the dog and cat. I now call both Toronto and Cabarete, Dominican Republic home.
From starting a global charity in 2000 to living between two countries since 2010, I have kind of done it all. I'm a writer, a professional speaker and an unshakeable believer in social change. I love great shoes, red wine, dark chocolate, my daughter Widlene and my man, Augusto - not necessarily in that order.
We make handmade leather shoes with upcycled tire soles and accessories for people who truly want to feel good about their choices. We are female owned, ethically produced and globally inspired. We believe in work done with dignity, sustainable fashion and a future that we can all create together.
