It’s almost March Break! Do you have activities planned for your kids yet? If not, we’ve got you covered. Check out this list of five exciting programs being offered by CSI members, from robotic video games to chess to bike repair!
1. STEAMLABS MARCH BREAK PROGRAM
This upcoming March Break, STEAMLabs is excited to partner with the Toronto Tool Library to bring their signature week long camps for kids and teens at their downtown makerspace as well as the Tool Library’s Danforth location! They’ve got two robotics camps and a Minecraft camp that will keep your creative kid busy all week!
Dates: Monday March 12th to Friday March 16th

Minecraft Pro
Ages 8 to 12
Minecraft Pro For Kids uses your child’s already established enthusiasm for Minecraft to extend their creative, collaborative, and problem solving skills. Participants will work alongside mentors to design worlds, build projects and install mods.

Robotic Video Games Camp
Ages 6 to 9 and 10 to 13
Inspired by everyone’s favourite video games, kids will work in small groups to bring virtual video games to life and design physical robotic games with our high tech tools.

2. CHARLIE’S FREEWHEELS FREE MARCH BREAK CAMP
Campers will explore how bikes work as well as an introduction to basic tools and repairs! This free camp is for kids between the ages of 6-11 years old and will include a bunch of fun hands-on activities like looking at bike repair and riding skills while encouraging play, imagination, and teamwork.
No bike experience necessary! We are happy to work with youth curious about bicycles and how they work!
Kids may come with their own bicycle or work with one from Charlie’s. A bicycle helmet is required for this program (please let us know if you don’t have one!).
Dates: Monday March 12 to Friday March 16
Time: 10am to 3pm
Location: Charlie’s Freewheels Workshop, 242.5 Queen Street East
More details: Registration is limited to only ten youth aged 6 to 11 years old.
Snacks and lunch will be provided each day of this program!
3. CHESS INSTITUTE OF CANADA MARCH BREAK CHESS SPORTS AND ARTS CAMP
Camp Director Tal Granite creates an exciting curriculum, which guarantees campers a well-rounded, fun and exciting experience. On any given day campers may be involved in chess lessons and tournaments, chess clock action, a host of ballgames, racquet games, martial arts, archery, swimming, drama and improv, arts and crafts, and numerous other activities.
Parents tell us their kids are excited to come home from our camps and tell them about everything they’ve done. “A perfect blend of mental, physical and creative activity.”

Time: 9am to 4pm
More details: Children are required to bring their own lunch.
After-care available to 5:00 p.m. for an additional $5 per day.
Second and subsequent siblings receive a $15 discount.

4. ADVENTURE VALLEY MARCH BREAK CAMP
The Adventure Valley camp philosophy is simple. They want their campers to have fun through learning, friendship and adventure. They also want all campers to become more self-assured and self-confident. All this takes place in a great camp atmosphere and a program that is varied and busy, but allows time for exploration and discovery. Their staff care about the children they work with and spend their camp day ensuring that our philosophy is delivered.

Fee $375/week
10% discount on second and third child
Campers in Grade 2 and under will be grouped according to age, and experience an exciting day of activities that mix in nature, art, cooking, music, dance, sports and outdoor fun and special guests.
Out Grade 3 to 6 campers will take part in our Choose Your Own Adventure program allows each camper to devise their own camp schedule based on the activities they love best! It is the ultimate camp experience!

5. SQUARE CIRCLE MARCH BREAK PROGRAM
Square Circle’s mission is to deliver a new way of engaging, educating and empowering youth. We work to strengthen the local community to foster more confident, resilient and courageous young leaders through the use of Social Circus and creative arts.
The four pillars of Square Circle are to:
- teach and educate youth in a new and inspiring way
- foster personal development and enhance social skills
- increase physical activity
- develop personal self-expression and creativity
