Come for lunch, stay for the conversation, leave with ready-to-eat goodness that will carry you through the week.
This March, the Centre for Social Innovation launches Meal Prep Mondays, a new pilot program born from the CSI Food Constellation. The initiative is a collaboration between fellow CSI Members Zestyplan and the Canadian Centre for Food & Ecology (CCFE), created specifically for the CSI community.
The idea is simple: twice a month, members gather in the kitchen to cook together using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Together, we prepare a core dish — or versatile components like sauces, dressings, or grains — that can anchor meals all week long. Participants share a nourishing lunch on site, then head home with prepared ingredients that make weeknights faster, easier, and far less stressful.
Because the challenge isn’t motivation, it’s time.
Zestyplan brings practical meal planning expertise that helps translate good intentions into doable routines. Meal Prep Mondays brings these strengths together in a way that’s tangible, social, and rooted in the everyday realities of busy working lives.
At CCFE, we approach food differently: we see flavour as the gateway to change. Rather than leading with conversations about soil health or sustainability, we begin with taste. When something is truly delicious, people naturally ask, “Why does this taste so good?” From there, we can explore how growing practices influence flavour, nutrient density, and environmental impact, as a welcome bonus.
We’re also thrilled that CSI community member Dave Kranenburg of Graze & Gather will supply the produce. It’s those vibrant, flavour-forward ingredients that spark that first, powerful question.
Registration is flexible, with rolling sign-up throughout the pilot. Start with a two-session commitment or choose a 6- or 12-session bundle for added savings. Special pricing is available for CSI Members.
