You might be familiar with CSI’s two coworking locations (Spadina and Annex), but did you know about our third Toronto location? The CSI Community Living Room is located on the ground floor of the Daniels Spectrum Building at 585 Dundas Street East in Regent Park, a culturally diverse and vibrant neighourhood in transition. It officially opened in late March of this year - here’s what you should know!

Today, CSI celebrates the 18th anniversary of opening our doors as Canada’s (and maybe the world’s!) first coworking space. Of course, we’ve evolved over the years to become so much more than just that - we are a curated, tight-knit community who cares deeply about making the world better for all. To celebrate the past 18 years of partnership and social innovation, we picked just 18 milestones (from the thousands of star moments) to share.

CSI hosted a hybrid virtual/in person debate at each of its locations ahead of the June 2 provincial election, and invited candidates from all four major political parties to participate.

It’s Canadian Innovation Week once again! It's 2022, so we're looking back at 22 of our favourite innovations to come out of CSI over the years, pulling from our founding members (Stephen Lewis Foundation!) programs and accelerators, and our time in New York City, to showcase some of the greatest hits that have emerged from our 18 year old experiment in social innovation.

We don’t have the knowledge or skills to work across multiple complex fields; we have yet to discover what the interconnections are or how the pieces fit together; this work requires building trusting relationships with groups we don’t usually work with, a process that takes significant time and investment. In many spaces policy makers and bureaucrats are actively encouraged to silo their solutions to avoid stepping on toes, or delaying action. It all seems extremely time consuming at a moment when we feel we should be accelerating our efforts. How do we even begin?
