The CSI Institute has teamed up with Every One. Every Day. in London, England to share the Our Neighbourhood project.

About Our Neighbourhood Starter Kits
There are four project starter kits that you can work on with your neighbours, while remaining at a safe physical distance, and in your own home.
These kits are perfect for a group of neighbours who want to participate in something, make social connections, and work on projects that strengthen our neighbourhood.
Each of the Our Neighbourhood Starter Kits include materials, equipment, training, support, and helpful hints and tips! Materials can include anything from soil and pots, to bee hives, to seed packets.
The starter kits are a way for you to join with a mini-neighbourhood social ecosystem to plan and execute projects that will help make our community better and stronger.
There are different-sized kits for different-sized groups of people. Each of these kits have a minimum of 3 people, and can accommodate groups of up to 15 (depending on the kit). If you want to join but don’t know other people who would like to start these projects, we can help you find more people in your neighbourhood.

About Our Neighbourhood Workshops
In the late fall of 2020 we ran 6 weeks of participatory workshops. Regent Park residents participated in painting, planting, hydroponics, social entrepreneurship, cooking, yoga and more.
We ran 30 workshops over the 6 weeks, with more than 150 participants! It was a great way for neighbours to meet each other and take part in shared activities.
These are the workshops that were offered in Fall 2020:
Our Neighbourhood Paints: A painting project where each person gets to create a unique piece of art that comes together to create a mosaic community mural!
Our Neighbourhood Grows: Learn the basics of growing food right at home, without using soil or taking up too much space, using hydroponics
Our Neighbourhood Explores: A journaling exploration of your values and your community, using reflective activities, photography, found objects and innovative thinking
Our Neighbourhood Cooks: Learn to cook in big batches, sharing nutritious, delicious, and budget friendly recipes and ideas
Our Neighbourhood Plants: A community tree planting project, raising indigenous tree species from seed to plant in the local community
Our Neighbourhood Learns: Practise fun skills and hobbies with your neighbours and share some of your own!

Our Project Kits enable people to get together and learn from each other. Each kit focuses on practical project ideas to make our neighbourhood better.
You will learn new things and meet new people, all while strengthening our neighbourhood! It’s all about neighbours making the neighbourhood more wonderful!
The Every One Every Day: TO Team is made up of CSI staff, project designers, and community researches. We’re all here to help!
You’ll also build connections to friends and neighbours in your community that will lend their skills to each of the neighbourhood projects. We’re making Regent Park better, together!
The Our Neighbourhood Project is free to all residents of Regent Park. Anyone who lives in the neighbourhood can sign up to participate in up to 3 projects.
CSI has been involved in the Regent Park community for over 7 years.
Regent Park has a vibrant history of community action, activism, and advocacy. Regent Park residents are highly engaged, and highly motivated to make the community better.
With the Our Neighbourhood Project, CSI is offering a tool to engage neighbours, build ecosystems, and plan projects that will make Regent Park even better than it already is!
You might already have connections with friends and neighbours in your community – encourage them to get involved so you can work on a project together! The Workshop projects you can do alone, or with your family. For the Our Neighbourhood Project Starter Kits you will need groups of between 3-15 people, depending on the project.
If you need help, the Every One Every Day: TO Team will help you recruit neighbours, and connect to others in the community that are interested in the same projects.
Many of the necessary items to get the Our Neighbourhood Projects started are included with your kits, provided by CSI and Every One Every Day:TO.
The workshops you sign up for will have a materials list – often using found objects from your home or community, or cheaply purchased locally.
The Project Starter Kits include most of what you need to get the project started, but you and your crew may decide to add additional items to enhance your project. The Every One Every Day: TO Team will help source items and resources with your group.
The beauty of the Our Neighbourhood Project is that you get to decide what works for you!
The workshop schedule is listed in the program calendar (Hyperlinked to PDF), and you can decide which sessions work for you.
As part of an Our Neighbourhood Starter project, you can work with your group to figure out what needs to be done, and which roles are best for you.
Everyone can participate, based on what they have to offer to the project.
Everyone is welcome to participate in the Our Neighbourhood Project, regardless of language, finances, mobility, access to technology etc. The Every One Every Day: TO Team can help.
When you register fill out the accessibility section, and the team will work with you to build a plan that works for you.
The Our Neighbourhood Project is just the beginning of the Every One Every Day Community Strategy!
We highly recommend getting involved in the Our Neighbourhood Project and get involved in your community.
The Every One Every Day TO Team can help you design new projects and initiatives in your community, and find opportunities for you to get more involved in facilitation.
