Important Guidelines for Your Booking

Hey – thanks for booking our space! Here are some important things for you to know.

Space Policies

Please be sure to read our full rental policies.

On-site Equipment

Flip charts and markers are already located in your meeting room.

Most meeting rooms have a mounted projector, screen, or a TV which can be connected directly to your device via HDMI, USB-C (new standard), or Mini Display Port (older Mac port). Please check when making your booking to ensure your room has the equipment you need.

Conference Pods must be booked as their own resource. To do so, find an available conference pod for the Location, Date, and Time Slot of your booking and book the Conference Pod resource through the booking portal.

Please note: You will need to book the Conference Pod and your Meeting Room booking(s) individually on the platform. Be sure to book them for the same date, time and location.

ONCE BOOKED: You must pick up the Conference Pod from the Welcome Desk noted in the description of the Conference Pod Resource. If your booking is outside of our Operating Hours*, and you do not have a member fob to access the space outside of these hours, please reach out for instructions on how to access the conference pod: 416 979 3939

Each Conference Pod is numbered. Please be sure to only take the same Conference Pod that you booked.

*Our regular business hours are M-F, 9 AM – 6:30 PM (excluding holidays), but please note that – due to COVID – our hours have been reduced to M-F, 10 AM – 4 PM until further notice.

Note: if equipment is not returned, you will be charged the replacement value of each unreturned item.

After Hours Access 

For bookings at CSI Spadina or CSI Annex you will receive an access code via email for each booking which will grant you entry to the building via a keypad at the entrance. Please keep this code handy for your booking, and share it in advance with any guests attending the meeting. For security reasons, NEVER post your code at the entrance. The code will activate 30 minutes prior to your booking and expire 30 minutes after your booking.

For bookings at CSI Regent Park you will need to pick up a Meeting Room Pass the day before (or day of, if it is an evening booking) during regular business hours. Please return the pass to the designated key return box at the end of the meeting. You will be shown this by the person who signs the pass out for you. There is a $75 charge for unreturned Meeting Room Passes. 

There is a charge of $50+ in the case that a room is left unclean or damaged.

Spadina

You will require your access code, sent via email, to enter the building. This code will activate 30 minutes prior to your booking and expire 30 minutes after your booking.

Please pick up any rented equipment from the Welcome Desk on the 3rd floor. If your meeting room booking is after regular business hours, feel free to call in advance for instructions about where to find your equipment.

Please only share your access code with the guests joining your meeting. For security reasons, NEVER post your code at the entrance.

Annex

Regent Park

Meeting Room Passes can be picked up from the 3rd floor Welcome Desk at CSI Regent Park – 585 Dundas Street East. When you arrive at the building please call 416-979-3939 x 3 and someone will meet you at the door to let you in the building. You will be given a quick tour of the space and shown where you can find your equipment. Access codes are NOT available at this location and a Meeting Room Pass must be picked up for any bookings that occur outside of business hours.

You will need the Meeting Room Pass to access the front doors of the Daniels Spectrum building (Dundas street entrance) and the elevator to get up to the 3rd floor (the light will not turn green, but it works – we promise!).

After your meeting, please leave the Meeting Room pass in the return box by the closets – you will not require the Pass to exit the building.

Invoicing

Meeting Room Invoices will be generated and charged to the billing information on your account on the first business day of the month, for all bookings from the previous month.

If you don’t already have payment information saved on your account, you will be required to enter in payment info at the time of booking.

For direct online bookings we accept all major credit cards as well as VISA debit and Mastercard debit; we do not accept Interac debit at this time. If you need to make a booking with an alternative method of payment, or if you require any assistance with bookings please contact events[at]socialinnovation.ca

CANCELLATION POLICY

All Meeting Room cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before your booking, or you will be responsible for the full cost of the booking.

If you need to modify your booking within 24 hours of your booking, you can adjust your bookings directly online as long as you have not yet been invoiced. In either case, you will want to first secure any new meeting room space or time required immediately on the booking portal, and you will then need to get in touch with our Meeting Room & Events team (events[at]socialinnovation.ca) to confirm the move so that the invoicing can be updated manually on the backend. In these cases, you will be waived for the cost of the lower cost room to ensure you are not double-paying.

DIRECTIONS AND PARKING

Spadina

192 Spadina Avenue is on the west side of Spadina between Queen St. and Dundas St., at Sullivan St.

By TTC: The Spadina subway is the nearest subway. The Spadina streetcar stops at Sullivan Street. You can also take the Queen or Dundas streetcars and walk from the Spadina stop.

Parking: There is metered parking all along Spadina.

There is a Green P parking lot approximately 2 blocks north of the Centre for Social Innovation, on the east side of Spadina. Note that Spadina runs northbound so you must approach from Queen St.

There is a public lot on Sullivan St. Note that Sullivan runs westbound so you must approach from Huron St.

Annex

720 Bathurst Street

720 Bathurst Street is on the west side of Bathurst, just south of Bloor Street.

By TTC: If riding the subway, exit at Bathurst Station. Cross Bathurst Street at Bloor and walk south. It’s a five minute walk from there to the building, which is just south of Lennox Street.

If riding the 511 Bathurst streetcar (going north on Bathurst), exit at Bathurst and Lennox. The building is across the street.

Parking: There is a Green P parking lot at 365 Lippincott Avenue, just south of Bloor Street and two blocks east of Bathurst. The building is a four minute walk from the lot, west on Lennox Street to Bathurst.

Regent Park

585 Dundas Street East is located in the Daniels Spectrum building at the corner of Dundas Street East and Sackville Street. Please enter the lobby from the Dundas Street entrance.

By TTC: Take the 505 Dundas Streetcar from Broadview Station to Parliament and walk west OR from Castlefrank Subway Station take the 65 Parliament bus to Dundas Street and walk east.

Parking: There is plenty of public parking surrounding the CSI Regent Park. There are approximately 100 paid public parking spots at the first level below grade under the Paintbox Condos, and street parking.

To access the underground parking, turn south on Sackville and then left (East) where the Paintbox signs are. Parking is a daily flat rate of $8.00 for 6am to 7pm.

Recommended Caterers

Our list of recommended caterers is found here. Otherwise, you are welcome to bring in any food and refreshments you’d like but please note that we strive to be a zero waste space across all locations.

We have a kitchen and kitchenware that you are welcome and encouraged to use — we ask only that you be sure to clean what you make use of (we have dishwashers). Should you decide to cater your meeting, please remind the caterer that no disposables (other than napkins) are necessary. Filtered water, pitchers, and glasses can also be found in the kitchen (we discourage bottled water).
