With strength in the health sciences, Raissa has crafted a career dedicated to providing growth and opportunity for various institutions such as the Sunnybrook Research Institute, Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, and the University of Toronto.
In 2016, with 15 years of experience in fundraising and business development, Raissa launched ReThink, a consulting firm dedicated to helping small to medium Social Enterprises reach their goals, through strategic partnerships, fund development, and concise marketing plans. In 2017 ReThink led Raissa to a cofounder role at COSM, a female pelvic health company, where she leads the team in securing start-up funding for clinical and validation studies. Raissa started ReThink and COSM from the halls of the Centre for Social Innovation, where members and staff grew to know and love her infectious giggle.
Given her experience and desire to grow socially responsible businesses, and her natural inclination towards ‘making social change and having fun doing it,’ Raissa was a clear choice for taking over the role of Director of Partnerships; leading the funding plan to support CSI’s education and training programs and growth and infrastructure needs, through both private and government funding.
When Raissa isn’t conquering work, she likes to crush it playing ultimate frisbee, hosting wicked dinner parties, going on epic hikes, or making beer and kombucha with her family and friends! She claims that her favourite colour is red, and if she was an animal she’d be a phoenix.
