Helen is Chief Artistic Officer of the Laboratory for Artistic Intelligence, which generates new ways of framing, training for, and solving complex social and public problems, using artistic intelligence. The Lab convenes multi-sectoral teams led by professional artists informed by diverse bodies of knowledge and modalities. The Lab’s Imagination Audit process helps government, social organizations, and other leaders in civil society to approach innovation and social change with more imagination and creative wisdom.
A graduate of the University of Toronto, Helen is also a practicing interdisciplinary artist and theatre designer. Her work has been nominated for the Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Arts, and multiple Toronto Dora Theatre Awards (Design, Lighting and Production). Her cultural research has informed policy at the local, provincial, and federal levels of policymaking. Currently, Helen is writing a book on the role of artists and artistic intelligence in contemporary society.
