Mitalie grew up in Toronto and completed her BSc and Master of Environmental Science degree at the University of Toronto. Her love for connecting with people and the environment led her to travel and work throughout Canada and India. In 2014, Mitalie moved to Montréal and realized there was a lack of organic waste management services. With a desire to solve this, she co-founded a composting company called Groundit. She was awarded by Enactus and the John Dobson Foundation as a national finalist in a nationwide entrepreneurship competition. In addition, Mitalie has worked for some amazing organizations such as BioFuelNet Canada, The Silk Roads Food Initiative and the MS Swaminathan Research Foundation. She also managed to accomplish a bucket list dream of being an Executive Producer of a TEDx conference.

This charismatic, ambitious woman has a burning passion for turning ideas into reality. She is a firm believer in the “ripple effect” to spread positive change, especially in places where it is needed the most. Mitalie is extremely excited to take on her new role as Senior Program Manager to lead the delivery of the Women in Social Enterprise Accelerators (WISE) at CSI. She aims to create an inclusive environment and support the growth of underrepresented women entrepreneurs and inspire them to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and make the impossible possible.

When not at work, you can find Mitalie designing costumes in her creative space, growing food, enjoying nature and surfing (whenever she can).
